Management
Structure
Zig Zag works from a feminist perspective which is reflected in all
aspects of the service. Zig Zag therefore aims to involve women in
all decisions, which affect them as employers and workers. We believe
that women need to have control over the way in which they work, and
have the opportunity to create their own work environment. As women
working together in the organisation we expect that others will respect
our right to be actively involved and that our contributions will
be valued. Along with rights come responsibilities. We, as an organisation,
have a responsibility to the community for how we make decisions,
which ultimately effect them as users of the service, and how we utilise
public funds. We have a commitment to open and accountable decision
making using a consensus decision making model.
The Management Committee is responsible for ensuring the services
and activities of Zig Zag Young Women's Resource Centre Inc are
responsive to the needs of young women. The Management Committee
has a range of responsibilities relating to the following key areas:
Support
- formal and informal support to staff
Accountability
(financial, legal, employment, service delivery, policy development,
implementation and review)
Membership
Management
Committee Meetings

Inc. - i.e. Sexual Assault Team, Housing Team, and Centre Support

if they choose. Staff attending Management Committee meetings provide
information and support to management but do not have voting rights.
